What is PTDF Scholarship?

The PTDF Overseas Scholarship Scheme is a yearly programme for PhD and MSc courses. The goal is to give Nigerian students the knowledge base and skill set necessary for them to actively participate in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry once their studies are complete.

Four nations will host the scholarship: Germany, France, China, and Malaysia.

Scholarship eligibility for PTDF 2023

Masters Scholarship 2023 from PTDF

  • a first-degree qualification of at least Second Class Upper (2.1), or a Second Class Lower (2.2) with relevant work experience
  • obligated to have performed National Youth Service (NYSC)
  • must be familiar with computers
  • a minimum of five O/level credits, one of which must be in English.
  • Statement of purpose (maximum 500 words) outlining the motivation(s) behind the proposed study, its applicability to the sector, and its anticipated effects on the growth of the country.

PhD Scholarship from PTDF 2023

  • obligated to have performed National Youth Service (NYSC)
  • must be familiar with computers
  • an excellent second-degree certificate with a first-degree grade of at least Second Class Lower (2.2);
  • Must submit a research proposal (no longer than 5 pages) that is pertinent to the oil and gas industry and contains the following

  • Additionally, candidates must submit their master’s project.
  • A letter from the vice chancellor stating that the lecturer is not receiving any other scholarships is required of all lecturers.

How to Apply for PTDF Scholarship 2023

The scholarship application will be submitted online.

  • Before submitting an application for the scholarship, candidates must have a National Identity Number (NIN). A NIN Verification Report must also be uploaded by applicants before the application can be submitted.
  • PhD candidates who are currently enrolled may only apply if their universities are included in the PTDF Partnership Universities as indicated above;
  • Candidates who have previously benefited from one of the PTDF scholarships are not eligible to apply for the same degree category, with the exception of a higher degree;
  • Higher degree holders are not eligible to apply for the same degree;
  • Candidates interested in studying at German institutions should select Abuja as their preferred location for interviews;
  • Candidates who have received any other scholarship are not required to apply;
  • All candidates are urged to prepare their transcripts for submission in preparation of such a request because applicants who successfully scale through the first round of screening will be asked to submit them.
